About BarburVet

Dr. Alexandra (she/her) joined the BarburVet family in August 2012 as lead veterinarian, then purchased the practice in May 2014. She completed her veterinary degree at University College Dublin (Ireland) in 2003. She has treated many species of animals, from horses, llamas, and cows to birds, turtles, and lizards, as well as dogs and cats. She enjoys dentistry and dermatology as well as addressing such common issues as osteoarthritis in the aging pet. When she is not at work she is riding her bike home to be with her husband and two daughters. Her furry family members are Gunnar (a ’low-rider’ dachshund mix), Lily (a Pyrenees mix) as well as Beatrice and Bernice (former barn cats). She also has a rescue bunny named Edmund.

Dr. Amanda (she/her) brings over a decade of veterinary experience to BarburVet, having practiced in Houston, Texas before relocating to Portland. A graduate of Louisiana State University, Dr. Seemann began her career in emergency medicine and later transitioned to general practice, where she developed a strong interest in client education and soft tissue surgery. Raised in a veterinary family, she’s been passionate about animal care since childhood. Outside the clinic, she enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband, Mason, and their dog, Walter.

Nathalie (she/her) has recently relocated to California, where she serves as our remote receptionist. She has a background in design, but has embraced her new adventure at our clinic, combining her love of people as well as animals. She has four dogs at home who keep her busy and happy, but she is always looking to add more to her pack!

Ashley (she/her) has lived and worked in the Tigard area for years. Her first job out of high school was at a veterinary clinic, but after that, she bounced around trying out a lot of different career ideas – everything from managing a hotel, to selling cars! Eventually, she realized that she was meant to be in animal medicine all along, and she never looked back. She loves to spend her free time soaking up Oregon’s natural beauty on long hikes with her husband, playing video games on her PS5, or cuddling up with her Siamese cat named Honker.

Xeike (he/him) joined the BarburVet Family in September, 2024.

Stephen (he/him) splits his time between managing BarburVet and managing his software company, VetBadger, which provides practice management software to BarburVet and to similar veterinary practices around the world. When he’s not fetching lunch or writing software he can probably be found racing his bicycle around the nearest velodrome.
